B-Classic - Manchester Collective

Manchester Collective

Manchester Collective is a contemporary music company making a name for itself with its revolutionary approach: (post-)modernism and avant-garde in unusual places, wrapped up in flashy concert outfits.

Known for their experimental programming and bold collaborations, Manchester Collective's work has expanded at breakneck speed since their formation in 2016. They now play in concert halls, concert venues and factory spaces across Europe and the UK, performing a combination of cutting-edge contemporary music, classical masterpieces and staged work.

New music is vital to the collective. In recent years, they have given creation commissions to artists such as Edmund Finnis, Hannah Peel, Lyra Pramuk and Laurence Osborn. Highlights include their debut at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms Festival 2021; the creation of Dark Days, Luminous Nights, a bold audio-visual installation created with Blackhaine and Simon Buckley under closure; and Sirocco, the international sensation with South African cellist Abel Selaocoe.

Manchester Collective records under the Icelandic label Bedroom Community.
