Rhonny Ventat

Trained at the Brussels and Liège Conservatories with Alain Crepin and Philippe Leblanc, Rhonny Ventat was propelled to the forefront of the scene thanks in particular to the Young Soloists Competition organised by the RTBF, of which he was a prizewinner in 1985.

After his classical studies, he continued his training with François Daneels and Steve Houben. An eclectic musician, he has played with a multitude of renowned and diverse artists such as Tibor Varga, Georges-Élie Octors, Julien Clerc, Jeff Bodart, William Sheller, Gilbert Montagné, André Vandernoot and Dirk Brossé.

In 2013, he also received the "Fuga" trophy from the Union of Belgian Composers while in 2014, the city of Liège awarded him the title of Cultural Ambassador of the Province of Liège.

Having taught for several years at the Conservatoire de musique de Verviers, he now devotes his teaching activities to the Institut royal supérieur de musique et de pédagogie (IMEP) in Namur.

He is the founder of the group Saxacorda (string quintet and saxophone) for whose specific formation several composers have written (Line Adam, Michel Lysight...)
