Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe x Valgeir Sigurðsson x Elisabeth Klinck: 'The Art of Listening’

Theatre-maker, opera director, and “wannabe counter tenor” Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe teamed up with Icelandic producer-composer Valgeir Sigurðsson (Björk, Feist, Damon Albarn) last year in order to explore the boundaries of electronic and contemporary classical music. In a world dominated by noise and in which silence has become a scarce commodity, they ask themselves how they can revitalise the art of listening. The answer translates into a 60-minute song cycle that came together in Reykjavik and Antwerp. The duo is accompanied by up-and-coming violinist Elisabeth Klinck who, just like in Miet Warlop’s ONE SONG, makes all the difference. This wonderful production came about thanks to the additional contributions of B-Classic, Festspillene i Nord-Norge and C-Mine Genk.
